This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students will learn about the formation of glass and clay and the ancient cultures that first created in these media. They will experiment with creating glassware from recycled bottles, reclaiming clay from the earth to create dishes and fusing glass to see how energy is necessary to create the formation of glass objects. This will help inform them about climate change and its effect on the environment. This experience will make students more aware of the impact they will potentially make on the earth as they purchase and consume such ubiquitous household goods as glassware and dinnerware.
