My students are in need of hands-on projects that are practical in their own lives. We have been collecting our paper scraps throughout the year, and we need to be able to put those to good use!
My students are fun-loving kids who have a thirst for learning new things.
We are in a Tier One school with no money to spare for more supplies. Our art processes this year have been limited to coloring and painting but my students crave more. This is one way we can expand our art experiences and knowledge!
My Project
With these paper molds, we will be learning how to make handmade paper! I would like to use this project the week of Earth Day to teach the students the importance of recycling. We have been collecting our paper scraps all year and no matter how much I say, "It is important to recycle," it will not matter unless they see it in action! We will be tying this project to literature as well: I Can Save the Earth!: One Little Monster Learns to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (Little Green Books) by Alison Inches and Viviana Garofoli which we have copies of in the art room!
I try to teach my students all different art making techniques.
By helping us fund this project, you will further diversify our learning experience. You will also help us to learn about and experience recycling first hand! Please help us make our Earth Day 2015 extra special!
