My class is an amazing group of very diverse high school students. In my self- contained classroom I have students with varying significant disabilities. However, these students are more than just their disabilities. They have so much to offer!
Because of the many sensory issues that many of my students have, they are unable to use the earbud type of headphones that the school offers.
Instead they are using really old headphones with no padding.
We have also been lucky enough to acquire class pets and I would like to continue this with another pet!
My Project
My students have many different sensory needs. They currently are unable to listen to music, play games, etc through headphones because using the in ear buds are not appropriate for them. Unfortunately the school only provides the earbuds for students. The headphones that we have acquired are really old and have no padding on them.
We also have been able to have fish in our classroom and that has been very exciting!
Students spend so much of their time just looking at the fish! I would like to add another pet to the classroom which will also help with our animal unit.
