My Project

Part II of this project will help my first year construction students earn their edge—literally! In my high school construction class, first year construction students work hard to master skills aligned with the NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) certification.

To keep them motivated, I’ve created the “Earn Your Edge” program, where students earn real, professional-grade tools every time they pass their module tests on the first attempt.

These tools become part of their personal tool kits and help them build confidence and career readiness. They will hold on to these tools through their second year of my program. Once they have completed the second year, earning all of their credentials, they will have a toolbox full of tools to take home.
