Early Riser Program

Help me give my students the 21st century learning that they need. We have the computers, but we really need lasting headphones so that they can focus on their reading and retelling without distractions.

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Urena's classroom raised $848

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are eager learners. They absolutely love hands-on activities and love to read. They come to school each day ready to try new things and take chances. Our students' goal is to grow both personally and academically. Our population consists of many English Language Learners and students with disabilities. As a school wide movement we want to allow these students to have the same experience as other students in the city and district. Part of this movement is to allow our students to experience 21st Century learning through technology. Due to budget reasons we do not have the sufficient resources to help contribute to our Early Risers Program.

My Project

These headphones will allow our students to have access to reading without distractions. We will use these headphones during our before school program for literacy that emphasizes getting students ready for the school day by reading for 30 minutes on their individual reading levels.

My students are engaged in their reading and would be less disruptive of their peers when using headphones.

For our students that speak more than one language, reading is an easy way to help their language skills development of reading fluency.

With these durable headphones we would not have to continue purchasing headphones. Instead we would be able to share them with the different groups. We would be able to offer students the accommodations that they need to have as successful experience!
