This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work in a public school system where I teach deaf and hard-of-hearing children. More than half of my students come from economically disadvantaged families. My students are eager to learn, but the obstacles presented by their hearing loss often frustrate them, for this reason, I love to involve their families as much as possible. Help me give my students a head start in the love of literacy. I want to provide each student with a personalized experience book about themselves and their classmates. Young children love to look at themselves and the people they know and love.
The students can then take the experience book home to share with their families and start building a library at home.
Not only will these books be a source of bonding for the families but also serve as making an impact on their children's reading and language achievements.
Thus, my project entails purchasing a photo printer and printing paper.
