Early Finisher Workbooks & Books

My Project

In planning for lessons, teachers are constantly asking themselves, "what will the kids do if they finish this early?" It is inevitable - kids will never finish everything at the same time. My go-to is typically our online skill practice platform. Unfortunately, during some state testing we are forced to keep kids tech-free. Additionally, skill practice isn't always the best option for all students.

These workbooks and books will give my middle schoolers a variety of productive options to keep them busy when they finish classwork or testing.

If they are feeling anxious, they may opt for a calming coloring book. If they are eager to keep building math skills, they may choose an IXL workbook. Or, if they are looking for a fun challenge they may go for a logic puzzle book. Some may let their imagination run free with a novel. Though different, these options will all help prepare them for their futures in some way. Additionally, they will save me from spending hours preparing extra work and standing over the copy machine so that I can spend my time working on more important tasks :)
