Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Each day my students walk through the door with smiles on their faces, happily anticipating the day's activities. They enjoy school and look forward to being with their friends and teachers. Although young, they have already developed a sense of the importance of school and of learning new things.

Our school is a high poverty, Title I school located in a big city.

Our school is growing, and exciting things are happening every day! I teach the transitional kindergarten class, which consists of four and five year-old students.

My Project

As an early childhood educator, I feel it is important to stay current with the latest research and practices for providing educational opportunities for my students. Attending the I Teach K! conference this July will help me learn new techniques and strategies for teaching young learners. Through this conference, I will experience a variety of educational lectures and workshops that will enhance my ability to use developmentally appropriate practices in my classroom, teaching kindergarten academics, encouraging social-emotional growth, and building my students' confidence.

This conference is designed specifically for Kindergarten teachers.

Your donations will help me to pay for this professional development experience, including lodging, food and teacher supplies to be purchased from conference vendors.

In part one of this project, I was fortunate to be funded for expenses to cover 2 days of the conference. In this project, I am requesting expenses for one more day of conference, lodging and meals, plus a stipend to purchase some of the wonderful teacher supplies from conference vendors that will enhance my lesson planning and delivery.
