Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students walk through the door each morning full of energy, ready to learn, and excited to see what knowledge they will gain for the day. I make sure to come to school ready to match that energy.
I teach at a Title I school in southern California where almost all of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Eighty five percent of the students qualify for a free or reduced price lunch.
Despite the many associated hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their very best which I expect of each of them. They want to be in school because they want to learn, and it's my pleasure to make this happen.
My Project
Many times my students listen to educational videos that are tailored specifically to each child: videos on sites like Khan Academy or when they are watching tutorial videos during Hour of Code.
These earbuds will enable my students to hear their own videos more clearly on their chromebooks and not be distracted by the neighboring computer videos.
The cases are there to help ensure that the earbuds better survive a year in the classroom.
The individual earbuds are color-coded to help keep them specific to each student. I want an assortment of colors so it's clearer which earbud belongs to which student and to keep hygiene up.
