My Students

As a teacher serving a low income area, there are specific challenges that my students face both in and out of the classroom. These eager and excited young students come to school every day ready to learn and happy to explore. Unfortunately, situations beyond their control threaten their success on a daily basis.

Many of my students have a difficult time secure the basic supplies they'll need for daily use.

For this reason, my projects on DonorsChoose are of vital importance to my students. I believe that it is my duty to provide these exceptional young thinkers the best opportunities that I possibly can. My diverse group of dedicated and inquisitive students will get the chance they deserve with the help of these resources.

My Project

This project will allow my students to start the school year off with their very own pair of clean, new headphones. They will not have to use headphones that other children have worn for the past two years. I have laptops for the children to use, which is wonderful, but many of the websites require sound to read stories and play math games. The students are sharing a few pairs of old headphones, but I do not have enough and they are pretty worn out. This will allow every student to have his or her own pair. They will be so excited!
