All of our students want to be successful when it comes to their education. There is nothing more important than understanding a lesson that was taught, and the subjects that bite my kids the most are math and reading.
It is every child's right to be able to succeed by learning at their pace and being met where they are.
My students are subscribed to a math intervention program called Ascend math that allows my students to fill in the missing learning gaps. Ascend math is personalized online math instruction that provides each student with a unique study path through skill gaps at each level.
There is a video component that is catered only to the student, to give them a 1:1 experience, but they need to hear it. Ascend Math has demonstrated results that enable students to achieve up to two or more grade levels of growth in one school year.
By identifying the level at which gaps begin, I can set students up for immediate success. Starting at the level at which students are ready to learn eliminates the need for student frustration as a program scaffolds down when the material is too difficult. This program provides social and emotional support and results in happier students and teachers.
So what do they need? They need quality headphones to actually hear the personalized lesson. Right now, a quiet room is filled with 28 different lessons going on at the same time and it can become challenging to focus. I want my kids to have the best opportunity to be their best and it starts with fulfilling as many needs as I can. I absolutely love these children and I love teaching them where they are.
