This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many of my students have five or more risk factors, such as coming from low income, single-parent households, having multiple disabilities, and being minority students coming from homes where English is not the primary language. The students are enthusiastic about learning and want to learn. Sometimes they have difficulties expressing themselves or are easily distracted. Once focused, they become engaged, and active learners. This year most of the students in my study lab have Autism or an Attention Deficit Disorder. What we really need are headphones. There are so many distractions during the 2021-22 school year, so that we need to modify our environment to maximize learning.

My Project

We use technology daily at our campus. During study lab my students have diverse activities to engage in that are online or pencil to paper. Some students may need to watch a video to finish a lesson. Others may be completing an online game or activity. Some may just need headphones to establish a quiet environment so they can focus.

Headphones will allow students to relax and focus on activities.

With so much diversity, students have a difficult time focusing. I am asking for noise cancelling headphones as well as regular head phones. Thank you in advance for your support of our classroom.
