This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As the teacher of the Kish Cats, I see every day how hard my 4th graders work and how dedicated they are to their learning. However, when it comes to using computers in the classroom, distractions can quickly add up, and it can be difficult for some students to stay focused. That’s why I believe providing each of my students with their own set of headphones would be a game changer for their learning experience.

With headphones, my students would be able to block out the noise of a busy classroom, allowing them to dive deep into their tasks without getting distracted by the sounds of other students.

Whether they’re watching a video, listening to instructions, or completing a computer-based assignment, headphones would give them the space they need to focus.

Additionally, headphones would allow my students to learn at their own pace. Some of my Kish Cats may need to replay certain lessons to fully understand the material, while others may be ready to move on quicker. By using headphones, each student can go at the speed that works best for them, without feeling rushed or holding up their classmates. It also allows them to focus on their individual work without worrying about disturbing others.

Every student in my class has their own unique learning style, and headphones would provide them with the personalized support they need to succeed. For some, it’s about creating a quieter space to concentrate; for others, it’s about accessing resources that help them learn better. Either way, this simple tool would make a big difference in ensuring that every Kish Cat has the opportunity to do their very best.
