This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are second language learners. They are growing up in south Los Angeles. We are a dual language classroom. They are learning Spanish and English simultaneously. The students are self learners and curious about the way our world works. They are also very concerned about our planet and constantly looking for ways to preserve it. The students and their families face many struggles and needs. Most of my students live in tiny apartments, are renting rooms from other families, or are currently living with other family members due to the high cost of living. My students are such giving and grateful souls. They see the good in everyone.

My Project

On a daily basis my students have the opportunity to work on computers (Chromebooks). We do several rotations during the day for ELD/TLD, Math Academy, and Language Arts Academy. During each rotation, students must share earphones with their classmates. I am hoping to be able to provide each student with their very own Ear-Buds. This is will ensure that every student has access to their very own ear-buds. Having their own ear buds will provide them with the responsibility of caring for their very own, as well as maintain more hygienic environment for everyone. Each student will be able to choose his or her own color.
