My students are of a mixed population and of immigrant families. We are also a Title I school. The students are very eager to learn and enjoy listening and reading great stories. A number of students are from non English speaking families and the only time they are read to us when they are read school.
My students look forward to coming to school where they can use the technology and books that the school provides.
They have the desire to be their best and that's incredible. These students sometimes come to school unprepared for learning and the school has to provide the tools they need to learn.
My school has 98 percent of students on free and reduced lunch. Students at my school rely on the school to provide breakfast and lunch daily.
Despite all the challenges facing my students every day, I believe it is my duty to provide them with a plethora of knowledge that they will need to one day give back to their community in a meaningful way.
My Project
This project will help my students improve their productivity during learning center rotation. My students will be able to listen to stories at our listening center and use the other technology to increase learning. They will be able to listen to interesting stories on audio books and computers which will improve language acquisition. The students will be able to utilize a Language Master machine to practice listening to Dolch words and practice them to become successful readers.
The math folders are essential for students to use as a tool for practicing what was learned during instruction.
Students learn more through hands on math activities and games. This project will boost my students' confidence in mathematics and promote cooperative learning in the classroom.
