My Students

A. L. Holmes is full of young, talented and hardworking students. Unfortunately, our school does not have a gym or an athletic program that all students can partake in. Without a physical activity, many of our students become bored with school and have a difficult time channeling their energy. The Eagles Cheer Team allows for a group of girls ranging from ages 10-13 to redirect their energy in a positive and motivating way.

The Eagles Cheer team provides school spirit to the students during assemblies and pep rallies, as well as motivate the Eagles basketball team at games.

My cheerleaders come from economically disadvantaged homes in the inner city of the largest urban school district in the state. All of our students are at-risk and receive free or reduced lunch.

They know they have the ability to amount to greatness, they just need the guidance and materials to succeed.

My Project

The Eagles Cheerleading Team is a hardworking team full of amazing young ladies. The exercise mats will allow the girls to practice skills such as jumps and splits in a safe manner. Proper stretching and exercises will teach the cheerleaders how to keep their bodies in shape during the season and throughout their lives. Pom-poms help liven up the crowd at games and assemblies by catching and keeping attention.

By donating to the Eagles Cheerleading Team, you are not only helping the cheerleaders but the entire school community.

The cheerleaders are motivating the team to victory and the student body to be more successful in school and their personal lives.
