Eager Readers Become Leaders

Help me give my students a passion for knowledge through reading an array of both fiction and nonfiction books.

My Project

My students come from a wide range of challenges from disabilities to coming from an impoverished environment. Their obstacles have put learning to read, and improving, on the back burner. With COVID-19 negative learning effects compounding on an already growing insecurity, and a frustration for many, my students need help igniting a passion for reading. My students are eager know and to grow their minds.

The books requested will grab their attentions and spark eagerness to open a book.

There are books with vibrant illustrations that help with comprehension. They are at reading levels that welcome the range of readers in my classes. I'm hoping that the eagerness to open a book will lead to an interest in reading, and once that confidence is built, that they will use that passion for reading and the knowledge they gain from doing so to become brilliant leaders of our community in adulthood.
