Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are imaginative and fun-loving Kindergarteners and First Graders who miss being in school. Many of them are ELL learners who are trying their best to learn from home with borrowed devices from our district. They come from low-income households and are also having to help their parents learn how to utilize technology to continue learning.

Despite the hardships they are facing with school being closed, they are eager learners and are trying to stay in touch with their fellow classmates through Zoom.

My students still need the everyday supplies such as paper, pencils, crayons, reading books and learning games.

My Project

Distance learning is so different from regular school. I miss my students! And we're all suffering from WAY too much screen time! I would love for them to be able to write down math problems while we are on Zoom, but unfortunately many of my students don't have basic schools supplies. I would like to supply them with some non-screen activities they can do during this time, and over the summer like read books and work on math review skills.

I have picked out a few things I think my students would enjoy, including: dry erase board, markers, crayons, paper, pencils, reading books, backpack and some healthy treats.
