This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach second grade in Concord, Ca.
My second graders are lovable, charismatic and excited to learn new things this year.
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions. Truly, they are my inspiration!
My Project
In the past, we have shared supplies in class, but with COVID-19, everything has changed and we will start the year with distance learning. I want my students to be safe, have access to the same materials they would have in class, and to be able to understand math.
This project will ensure that each of my students will receive their own bag of math supplies.
These will be their own and not shared with anyone, so no germs will be shared. While starting the year distance learning, I would imagine we would eventually move towards a hybrid model and even full in class learning, in which case these math tools could easily be transported back and forth between home and school.
