This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Remember the Betamax, 8-track, or vinyl albums? They were great in their day, but are outdated now. I don't want MY classroom to become the 8-track. My students must be technologically literate to function in today's and tomorrow's worlds. So we do PowerPoints, Prezis, and YouTube videos.

My students are in one of the lowest income neighborhoods in Southern California.

99% of them qualify for the free lunch program. A large number are foster students. They have heart and desire, but not cash. Students in my History and Honors History courses create amazing videos, movies, slideshows, PowerPoints, Prezis, and more. The problem is that most have no way to save their work other than the classroom PCs. This limits their ability to work outside of the classroom and school day. A set of flashdrives to check out to students would solve this problem and also alleviate the stress on the classroom PCs, which currently are stuffed with student work.

My Project

With this project, my students will be able to enter the workforce literate in necessary technology. My students need e-storage for their electronic school projects. They also will be able to work on electronic projects/assignments at home and outside the classroom. Their work will be better, their technological savvy will be improved, and they will be better prepared for college and the workforce.
