This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Please help me fill up my Hawaiian Language Immersion classroom with resources that will benefit and support the learning of my students! The laminator and laminating pouches will not only allow me to laminate and display their work, but will allow me to laminate my own anchor charts and posters in order to incorporate Hawaiian Language visually into my classroom.

My Hawaiian Language-learning students are currently learning about Native Hawaiian fishponds and the fish that are found within them.

The modeling clay will be incorporated into a science project where students will use the modeling clay to demonstrate differing varying ʻoʻopu - which are Native Hawaiian goby fish found in streams in Hawaiʻi.

The flexible seating will allow more choice and opportunity for my students to sit in more areas of the classroom, as we hold five fifteen-minute rotations where students must visit each station around the classroom.

The mobile whiteboard will allow me to move freely about the classroom in order to effectively teach all students regardless of their seating choice.

My students are Hawaiian Language learners who are incredibly bright and special students for having the capability to learn, read, write, and think in another language. They are bright young children who actively enjoy learning about their environment and how to preserve our natural resources. Any contribution will only enrich their learning experiences in science as well as during their rotations for Language Arts and Mathematics.
