Help me give my students various dystopian novels for literature circles so they can explore societal issues and solve real-world problems.

My Students
When I first interacted with my middle school students, I was taken-aback by how eager and ready to learn they are. Internally motivated to do well, they work hard because they like the feeling achievement gives them. Their futures are very bright.
My students are just beginning to recognize the forces in their lives which will affect their outcomes and identities.
I am proud to be their teacher, to accompany them on their journey of discovery, and want to help them better express themselves through reading and writing.
My Project
The students in my school live fairly sheltered lives, and literature gives them a way to explore realities that differ from their own. This project will allow students to study various societal issues and real-world problems using these dystopian novels in a literature circles setting. All of the novels in this project are appropriate for the age groups of my students, and have characters that my students can relate to.
Using these books, students will examine real-world societal issues and how solving them is much more complex than it seems.
Students will examine government structures, civil disobedience, and the belief that one person can make a difference in their world, all through the vehicle of books.
