My Project

Our International Baccalaureate school develops students who are ready to participate in an open, global world. Students in our school are diverse, globally minded, thoughtful, curious, and motivated learners. They are reflective and critical thinkers. Students in my Chinese classes especially, are risk-takers, jumping feet first into the wonderful and fascinating world of Mandarin and Chinese culture!

Practicing calming and centering techniques like active listening, mindful breathing and taking purposeful "brain breaks" can help students regulate emotions and focus their attention during our long block classes.

Every day students return to a consistent “Foundations” class, where one of our regular foci is mindful movement activities designed to manage stress and increase focus. Students learn about the effect of stress on the brain as well as practice mindful breathing, along with centering and calming activities. These practices help students regulate their stress level and engage in their learning.

A generous donation of meditation cushions, breathing balls and a singing bowl will support us in promoting wellness among our eager young learners!
