This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are English Language Learners in Kindergarten. During the year they go from learning the alphabet, to actually being able to read, from counting, to addition and subtraction. The amount of learning that they do in this year is immense. My students are kind, curious, and supportive of each other.

My Students are from all over the world, they come in with lots of languages and experiences.

They are still learning to speak English, but they bring a lot more background knowledge about the world to class than most 5 year olds.

My Project

This project is to fund wobble stools for my English Language Learner small group. These stools allow students to move around while they are seated and working. This is a big help for kindergarten students who have a lot of extra energy.

These stools will be used for students who are working at my table while we learn to read, write and do math.

Because my students are English Language Learners they have to learn English while they learn other academic skills, so sometimes we have to spend more time together, which can really push their ability to sit and focus. These stools can make a big difference for the students.
