My Students
According to Merriam-Webster, a team is defined as a group of people that work together.
My students are creative, energetic and always eager to learn and play.
They thrive when they are provided with hands-on materials and they are great problem solvers. Every child is different with their own likes and dislikes. Some students are natural leaders and others prefer to stay in the background. Some students love to plan and design a project while others enjoy building the project. Some students are naturally loud and some are naturally quiet. When we work together, each child is able to use their strengths to contribute to our classroom and teach their peers new skills.. All of these unique characteristics is what makes our classroom a united kindergarten team.
My Project
We are a team. However, we need to look like a team for our upcoming Field Day! Field Day is always anticipated and coined the favorite event of the school year. My students will work together to complete various games and activities as a team and some individual games too. There will be hundred of students out on the field on this day and we always seems to blend together. With so many classes on the field, we want to ensure that not only are we easy to identify but that we look like a team for Field Day. I am requesting a class set of t-shirts, tie dye kits and rubber bands to ensure that every child has a shirt for field day. We will work together to be creative and design our team shirts. Throughout this process, students will learn how to tie-dye, write a how-to tie dye explanation to teach others and learn the importance of teamwork. This art project is empowering students through art to work on literacy skills and character education.
Creating these tie-dye shirts will build class spirit and unite us as a team!
By the end of the project, students will learn how to tie-dye, teach someone else how to tie-dye and the importance of teamwork. Thank you in advance for supporting the cutest and sweetest kindergarten "team!"
