DVD ROM Drive

My students need 2 dvd/cd drives to have access to music in my classroom.

My Students

Our school is piloting a program in our district that will have all teachers using laptop computers. Our laptops do not have CD/DVD rom drives, which is troublesome in a music classroom. I use iPods and iTunes daily and not having a drive is becoming increasingly difficult.

We are a public four year high school.

I teach band and orchestra to just over 10% of the population of our school. The program is over 100 years old and I would like to continue using innovative products, like iPods, to continue to make our program relevant for years to come.

My Project

I am requesting funds to purchase two DVD/CD rom drives. One for the band/orchestra room and one for the choir room. Both programs use iTunes as a teaching tool and a CD rom drive is an important component of the process. Our school has a few drives to share among the staff, but we really need dedicated ones for our program. This will allow us to stay current on trends in music by facilitating our ability to quickly get music into the hands of students when it is relevant.

iTunes is perhaps the number one biggest innovation in the last ten years with regard to teaching music.

It is a quick and easy way to share music with students. Providing dedicated CD/DVD rom drives for our band/orchestra and choir teachers will allow us to continue to use this product for years to come. Thank you for your support!
