Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Self-portrait artworks are created by students every school year. New standing mirrors will allow students to practice observation skills as they create sketches of their faces.
Mirrors will be used for various projects which involves practicing art skills through observation.
For example, students can learn the difference between bilateral symmetry and asymmetry by placing half of an object to reflect against a mirror. They can also be used as props for still-life drawings.
These durable standing mirrors will see many years of use, and would replace heavily worn and cracked mirrors which are no longer adequate for art projects.
