Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our club is now in its fourth year, and the students have truly built a supportive and engaging community. This project aims to provide resources that will enhance their experience and foster even more growth.

Role-playing games offer a unique opportunity for students to develop a variety of skills in a fun and interactive way.

Here are some of the benefits we've observed:

Increased Confidence: Shy students have found their voice by pretending to be different characters, allowing them to express themselves more freely.

Improved Language Skills: English as a New Language (ENL) students are speaking in English more confidently and frequently, thanks to the immersive nature of D&D.

Enhanced Attendance: Students with previously low attendance are coming to school more regularly because they don't want to miss our sessions.

Teamwork and Collaboration: The students are learning to work together, solve puzzles, and use context clues from the narration to predict missing information.

Understanding Consequences: Through the game, students learn about the consequences of their actions, which helps them develop critical thinking skills.

Project Goals

With your support, we aim to provide additional resources such as game books, character sheets, dice sets, and other materials that will enrich our club's activities. These resources will help us:

Expand Our Sessions: More materials mean more opportunities for students to engage and participate.

Enhance Learning: Quality resources will provide a better learning experience, helping students to dive deeper into the game and its educational aspects.

Foster Community: By supporting our club, you're helping to build a strong, inclusive community where every student feels valued and motivated.
