My students need guided reading collection: Spanish levels F-I to help support the progress they are making in Spanish. Hence, these books are vital to their learning of a 2nd language.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
What makes our class special/unique? Diversity is what makes us special/unique. My students come from many places (Mexico, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Belize, China, Ireland, El Salvador, Ecuador, Nicaragua, and U.S.A). While we come from different places, the goal is the same, to be life learners, empathetic, kind and compassionate towards one another. To be persistent even when things get hard.
Students are greeted at the door with a "good morning" on English Days or "buenos dia" on Spanish days and a high five.
I teach a first grade Dual Language class at a Title I school in Brooklyn where about 97% percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Our school has a large number of families that are currently living in shelters. The items chosen for this project will allow the students access to materials that can only be possible with your donations . The materials requested will be utilized by the students assigned to this class.
My Project
I am piloting a first grade dual language in a low income neighborhood. Many of my students are making great progress in their reading. My classroom is in need of a guided Spanish collection for reading levels F-I.
Giving low-income students access to books is an investment in their future.
These books will allow me to continue to support their progress. Being able to have books available in the classroom where they spend 6 hours and 20 minutes a day for 180 days is critical and I am hoping that you can help make this possible for us with your generous donations.
