Help me give my students materials that they are missing. This will be my first year teaching and I believe in hands-on learning, especially for the higher math courses where they know very little English.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
They are part of a dual-language program learning Algebra 2. These students are hard workers that just don't have the resources that other students may have. Most of the students either are from another country where English is their second language, raised by grandparents, single-family homes, homeless, or come from a home where both parents work and are unable to give them the extra supplies needed to help them learn the material they need to complete assignments.
My Project
Hands-on learning is essential to teen learning especially when their minds are not on math. I have been learning that by utilizing hands-on learning these teens are more likely to understand concepts and enhance their skills to master their potential to learn the math material needed to pass the class. Since I am teaching dual language Algebra 2 class, the language barrier can be quite difficult therefore through games and hands-on learning the kids can communicate without knowing English but understanding the math concepts. These materials will benefit them tremendously. I plan on supplying each student with a mechanical pencil since most have never had one and can see the benefit of having one to concentrate on the math problem instead of having the lead break and they have to stop to look for a sharpener and use that as an excuse why they didn't work on it or simply couldn't afford any pencils. These teens really need every tool needed to enhance their critical thinking so they can be prepared for not only the next level of math. We use algebra every day in our lives but we just don't realize it. Plus some of the highest paying jobs require math. Using the games I am asking for and supplies can really help them with the many projects I have planned for them. So please help me help them.
