My Students
How would a typical day in my photography classroom be described? Students would say it is exciting! They enter class every day eager to experience each and every assignment. With their materials in hand, they are ready to work!
My students show a love for the arts that is unmatched anywhere in our state.
They are smart, kind, and generous young adults that are on a mission to make this world a beautiful, caring place.
From beginner foundations studies to photography and graphic design to AP portfolios, we are fortunate to offer it all within our Visual Art Department.
My Project
Due to growing class sizes and more interest in studying Photography my students need additional cameras! This additional equipment will allow more students to fully understand digital photography and all its creative nuances. The funding of this project will offer our photography students the opportunity to experience taking photographs and experimenting with photography on an entirely new level, using Digital SLR cameras.
These creative, talented, and motivated students deserve the opportunity to explore lighting and exposure while growing to understand the various functions and settings on modern Digital SLR cameras.
These cameras will allow them the chance to put down their cell phones and to experience all aspects of photography through an actual camera. Additional cameras will allow students the time to complete larger more advanced assignments. Right now my students are working in large groups (often four or more) to study the DSLR camera, aperture, ISO and shutter speed. They are doing great work and love working together but how great would it be to one day have a camera for each student to use and explore with each class period?
