This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
A typical day in my classroom consists of students checking in on the classroom website, coding, scanning, and creating QR codes, creating, editing, and publishing content on our classroom website.
My room is a wonderland of technology tools; headphones, iPads, computers, styluses, and even a few Sphero robots.
Students use these technology tools to build vital 21st-century digital literacy skills: computer science, coding, robotics, and creating and publishing multimedia content.
My students are full of dreams and hope for the future.
They are hungry to use the tools of their time and to use technology as a powerful thinking, learning, and content creation tool. Most of my students don't have the internet at home, and for some, the only time they use computers is in my classroom. I feel a deep responsibility to help my students become comfortable and competent using top-quality technology tools.
My Project
In the Media Center, students make stop motion movies and hand-drawn animations projects. Dry-erase boards are perfect for students to use as they frame their animation projects.
Creative projects drive student engagement and animation is one of the most exciting engaging projects I teach in the Media Center.
With a class set of dry erase boards, all of my students will be able to create unique animation projects to publish. This year I teach two classes simultaneously in my room, so I need extra supplies to accommodate the increased number of students.
