My Project

Science teachers in our district recently participated in a professional development workshop focusing on argument driven inquiry. Argument driven inquiry increases student engagement and makes learning more student centered and meaningful.

Dry erase boards are a necessity to implement this learning strategy.

Students work in small groups to create an explanation or argument for a given phenomena or process. The process not only gives them experience in using data and evidence to justify their claims, it also gives them experience with peer review and writing scientific reports.

Students enjoy working on white boards and it makes them feel more comfortable with making mistakes since edits can easily be made on dry erase boards.
