Dry Erase Boards 4 Math

Help me give my students the ability to leave a problem up so that they can process and not have to erase it since the other boards have been filled up with other math problems.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is an early college high school with a focus on stem courses. Our students focus heavily on academics in order to graduate with their associate's degree. Many take at least one concurrent enrollment class their freshman year of high school. Some students decide to take more classes in the summer or throughout the year.

I have noticed that many students are not as prepared as other years in math.

They require more time and explanation for different topics. Students are still getting used to having to turn in assignments in person or maintaining focus in classroom for almost an hour.

My Project

These boards will help students see a much clearer space than a white board paint that could not be erased as easily. More space will allow for students to have problems being left on the board for them to process at their pace instead of being erased because of the lack of space. Students were cut about 1/3 of their curriculum during Covid and I have observed that I often need more space to explain math in various ways so that everyone understands. These will help with drawings and explanations.
