My students need practical hands-on ways to learn. The four desktop skeletal models will allow smaller groups direct contact with a skeleton for study and higher learning success.

My Students
My students, in this inner city school, live in an area where drugs, gangs, and unemployment run rampant. My Health Education classes include a very diverse group of students that desire to better themselves and those around them.
Many of them desire to enter the medical field.
In 10th grade Health we finish learning about the body systems. They actually get excited when we pull out our muscle, respiratory, skin, ear, and digestive system models!
The students now want to focus on our physical health. This will include learning about our bones, and how we can educate others to desire to become more fit - and in their words, "...have a better outlook about themselves and their world - despite the hardships."
My Project
In my Health classroom, I have one upright skeleton and I borrow one from the Anatomy/Physiology teacher. This gives my classes an opportunity for two large study groups.
The students, with the addition of the skeletal models, will certainly be able to gain hands-on experience in smaller groups for individualized instruction, study, and learning.
This would prove more beneficial to my students academic success. Anyone can see how this would end in a positive learning experience, rather than large group study or trying to memorize a handout.
Another benefit of the smaller models would be that they will allow students to take and use the models for study outside of my class.
