Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This year, I've opened up my 6th grade band instrument choices to include piano, electric bass, and drum set. This will mean a full-on rhythm section in addition to the wind instruments - flute, clarinet, alto sax, trumpet and trombone! Having had the modern band experience in 5th grade, the students are so excited to have a wider range of choices that reflect their strengths and interests.
I would love to have portable electric drum pads that simulate a drum set for my drummers to practice at home, as well as additional method books for my electric bass guitar players.
This will give them the tools at home to be successful! It will also allow my drummers to hear the different parts of the drum set (instead of the sound of a regular practice pad) and practice with headphones at any hour of the day!
