This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I coach 600 kids daily for Physical Education. In our school, we serve Pre-K through fifth grade students in a low socioeconomic area. Our school is a Title I school, and our entire school population is eligible to participate in the free lunch and breakfast program.
My students are full of life and energy.
They love to be outside and are eager to learn new sports. Currently, we want to learn how to play a variety of sports, and my students learn that there is a sport for everyone to promote an active, healthy lifestyle. My students have a strong desire to learn to play different sports, but they lack the equipment and knowledge to do so.
My Project
We are requesting a set of six Drum-N-Store bucket sets. This set of six Drum-N-Store buckets allows for the combination of developing strong muscles and hearts with learning the calming rhythms and patters of drumming. These patterns are taught to music which also develops musicality. This drumming set will help develop muscles in the arms, legs, and ears.
This Drum-N-Store bucket set will give our students a total mind and body experience.
It will help to provide both a kinesthetic and a sensory experience for our PE students from Pre-k through 5th grade. These materials will seamlessly blend physical activity and movement.
