A few years ago, I was able to begin a drumline program for my students with 8 marching percussion instruments. Since then, and with the support of Donors Choose and donors like you, I have been able to build the program to include instruments for 26 students. I now have several different sections of drumline classes throughout the day who share the use of these instruments. This is incredible! I have students begging to come in before and after school for extra lessons and practice time. My heart is so full knowing that my students are finding joy in making music.
With the incredible popularity and growth of the drumline program also comes the associated material needs.
Drum sticks quite literally take a beating and the wood begins to wear down and splinter. Several snare drumsticks and bass drum mallets need to be replaced.
With performances opportunities returning and more frequent than ever before, students are experiencing multiple opportunities to perform for the school and outside community. My heart is so full of the incredible opportunities my students are receiving and the lifelong benefits of being a part of a performing ensemble. Thank you for supporting my students and their future!
