Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
During this pandemic, all students are trying to have a great music education experience. Technology is on our side to make this happen. All students here are hard-working students who strive to be the best and this addition to my music program will be great not only for the school but for the community as a whole.
Fifty-one percent of the school population are Hispanic, 48% of the population is African American, and 1% of the school population is considered other.
My Project
This project is intended to expand the orchestra at our high school. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, students are not allowed to share instruments and are now restricted to what they can do musically in the music classroom. By having more instruments on hand, more students will be able to play instruments and expand in their music educational experience. This is crucial in a student's life as it can be a pathway for them to express themselves. Being in an instrumental ensemble really can change a student's life.
