Help me give my students more options for reading. My kids are required to meet a reading goal every nine weeks. However, since I moved up to middle most of the books in my class are not applicable.

My Students
I am a teacher at a Title I school, that has a unique program for kids with disabilities. A few years ago, I transferred from the self-contained classroom back into the general education classroom (at the same school) and remained in the GenEd world for a few years. This is my second year back in the EC world, and I'm so excited! Though this school year looks different, there are skills we are working on to help my kids succeed.
Most of my students have behavior goals that are in place to teach them the skills a typically developing student would have, or have learned; like self-calming techniques they are learning.
Meeting all of the needs of my students, while continuing on with the curriculum, is hard for all of us. My students are provided with more one-on-one attention that they need to be successful within the General Education classroom! I am hoping this project will help my students continue to learn the skills they need and provide them with ways they can take ownership of their own behaviors and educational successes.
My Project
Since moving to middle school, I've realized my classroom library is not as useful for my students as it used to be. Over the last few years I've been building a more diverse classroom library with books for older kids (4-5th grade), however, I now teach 8th grade. So those books are good for my lower level readers, but I don't have much for my on-level readers.
Providing books for my students is the best way I can set them up for success in life, especially my struggling readers.
By providing books, they will not only be exposed to more cultures, they will be more fluent in their skills. The skills they are fine tuning now, are the same skills they'll use to be successful in their future jobs.
