Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a tuition-free college-prep charter school: 6th through 12th grade. I teach all of the visual art classes; having the middle school classes for one semester and the high school classes all year.
In-class silent reading is a requirement of our school-wide reading across the curriculum program. My students desire to have an art book library available to them during these planned reading sessions.
I have selected several books related to many art movements throughout history; as well as a few drawing technique books. I believe these selections provide a range of topics and reading levels to engage students in a love of reading
