it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are future engineers, designers and entrepreneurs. They are makers who love to design and develop their ideas to help solve problems in the world. They are artists who love to draw, paint, build and perform. At our middle school in Jamaica Queens, some of our students may not have access to technology at home. We want to make sure our students know that there is no limit to what they can do when they work hard and believe in themselves.
My Project
As educators, we must prepare our students for a world that does not yet exist. Currently there is a very negative context around drones and what they are used for. I want to show my students that drones can be useful in all different careers in positive ways.
Teaching students about drones in middle school can give them the knowledge and skills they need to use this tool in many different careers.
We will use the drone as a part of our STEAM curriculum to help with different projects. We will also use it to take pictures and make videos to promote those projects.
