My students need the ability to transport their work from home to school and school to home.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Hathorn's classroom raised $422
This project is fully funded
I am a social studies teacher at Hartford High School in White River Junction Vermont. I currently teach 9th grade Cultural Geography.
One of my primary concerns is that students are not using technology to work for them. My goal is to empower the students and teach them to work smarter not harder. This is an ever increasing problem. Our school has 700 students and only two available computer labs. I am able to get my classes into the computer labs about once a week, but that is nowhere near enough time to teach them new technology and have them create their own projects.
Through the year I have found out many, if not all my students have access to a computer at home or at a friend or relative's house. So I have started to expect a certain amount of homework done on computers. Here is where the problem lies. Students are not allowed to use personal email at school so they cannot send their work back and forth, and many do not have flash drives. By having 25 flash drives available for my students to sign out I hope this will increase the level of use of technology in my classroom.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
