My Project
Help my second-grade students learn how to budget and spend money responsibly by providing them with a classroom grocery plaza. Students will learn the value of money and how to shop at the various "stores" with money they have earned for good behavior.
Our Plazza will include several shopping options for students such as a grocery store, taco truck, coffee shop, and pizza stand.
Our plaza will be equipped with a real-working cash register! The cash register has a digital display that allows kids add, subtract, multiply and divide as they ring up pretend purchases.
The second-grade plaza will give the students a hands-on learning experience that can apply to real-life skills. Counting and budgeting money is a lifelong skill. If funded, I plan to get started on this project right away. I will even open up our "Drive-thru" learning to other grades if they would like to participate.
