My Teacher Academy/Educators Rising students are an amazing group of self-driven students and are invested in their future and the future of teaching!
They are a compassionate and grateful group of students who want the same opportunities as other children and never fail to show gratitude at the smallest gestures afforded to them.
Because of this reason and much more, I think it is important to invest in them. I ask you to consider investing in them to make possible experiences that they would otherwise not be able to take part in.
My Project
Adjoined to my classroom, I maintain a clothing closet, as well as a large room stocked with donations for students to meet all sorts of needs as they arise within our school and community that consists of anything from gently worn shoes, new socks, school uniforms, to gently worn formals and accessories to accompany. Because I have been blessed with donations, I not only need to be able to adequately organize and store these donations, but also maintain them, which means volunteer sewing services to repair tears, buttons, snaps, straps, and so on.
Through this project being funded, I will not only be able to organize clothing donations made for our students so that they are easy to access, but I will also have supplies to make repairs to clothing as needed and provide them with a place to try clothing on while maintaining their privacy.
This is a large project, but is near and dear to my heart because it services many children and provides them opportunities that range from being able to go about their normal school day successfully, to attending a formal event that they would have otherwise not have been able to attend. The funding of this project would be a true blessing!
