Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project will allow the choir students at our school to perform in professional-looking attire that unifies the ensemble. The CHSC, known as Cantare, is a dedicated group of talented students who love creating and sharing music with our community. However, many of my students do not own formal attire, let alone clothing that would give our choir a polished, uniform appearance. Some students have even expressed feeling less confident when compared to other choirs simply because of what they are wearing. This project is about equity—ensuring that my students can focus on their performance, not their wardrobe.
We need professional choir uniforms so our students can confidently take the stage!
These uniforms—black dresses for women and tuxedos for men—are the standard attire for choral performances and competitions. With these, our choir will not only look as polished as their peers, but they will also feel the part, elevating their confidence and performance. We all know that you perform at your best when you dress for success! As a Title I school, many of my students work outside of school to help support their families, and purchasing performance attire is not an option.
Your donation will provide a lasting set of uniforms that will be used for years to come, ensuring that every student who joins Cantare has the opportunity to perform with pride. On behalf of all of us at our school, thank you for supporting our choir and helping our students shine!
