This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are a title 1 school in Hialeah, Florida. Many of my students do not have basic supplies for school. Therefore, when I am able to provide them with what they need, it is appreciated and they work harder to have a perfect performance.

Have you ever dressed for success and felt confident that you could do whatever you needed to do?

That is what I am trying to provide for my students. My students are passionate about learning the art of dance and are eager to advance. If they are provided with the proper dancewear to suit the performance, the students will be motivated to increase their efforts. There is a correlation between student confidence and learning gains. I want to give my students as many resources as I can to provide them with the best opportunity to achieve the maximum learning gains. The dance costumes will help the students in the dance class by uplifting their self esteem and confidence which will lead to a greater drive to perfecting the dance.

My goal is to uplift every student to reach their maximum potential. When you uplift students, you not only uplift their ability to dance but it helps in all aspects of their learning. Improving a student's confidence helps them to speak out more. Dance fosters creativity which in turn increases student's learning in all subject matter. For example, in class they may have the right answer or they may intervene if another student is being bullied. The art of dance instills many qualities needed to be a productive adult. For example, teamwork, discipline, hard work, and helping others succeed.
