This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My fifth graders are persistent and ready to face new challenges. They love learning! Their passion for learning inspires me to give my all as their teacher. I teach in an area of low-income and high poverty. Nearly all students qualify for the free lunch program. Our school is a wonderful learning community, yet it is very low on resources.
I want to be able to provide my students with the supplies and resources they need to become motivated, life-long learners.
My Project
My students belong to the DREAMS Magnet at our school which focuses on Design and Research, Engineering, Arts, Math, and Science. My students are empowered learners as they work collaboratively on design thinking projects throughout the year. They are constantly showing their knowledge through the production of creative artifacts. This year I would like to focus on the ISTE Standard, "Creative Communicator". They will be using multiple platforms to creatively express their ideas. My students need a color printer to display and show off their beautifully creative work.
Having a color printer in our classroom will give my students encouragement to be creative.
