I teach Technology at a charter school in Maryland. My school accepts incoming students in a lottery system that does not have minimum academic requirements. 80% of our students qualify for free lunch. We received a generous grant last year that enabled the creation of a 25-seat computer lab outfitted with Adobe Creative Suite 3.
My students are amazingly motivated and talented young designers. They have produced incredible work this year, including web pages, magazine covers, advertisements, rotoscoped images, and stop-motion animations.
One vital tool is missing from our lab: Drawing tablets! The quality of student work could be even more fantastic if they were able to draw using professional tools.
