I teach in an alternative middle school for students who have not been experiencing success in a traditional school setting. Our students have faced academic failure, behavior challenges, and personal hardships. We work to change all of that and improve our kids' outlook and chances for success.
Our students have faces academic failure, difficulties with behavior, and personal hardships.
Most live with household incomes that put them below the poverty line. Through building positive relationships, strengthening academic skills, and restoring confidence, we support students in their steps on a better path.
My Project
Having a role model like Malala will provide my students with much-needed inspiration. Many of them feel helpless, and live daily in dangerous situations. Seeing the details of her struggle and her mission will inspire them to stand up for what is right, and understand that they have the power to make a positive difference.
Most of my students are overwhelmed with negativity - from their own past challenges with school, to media, to the realities of their neighborhoods.
I make it a mission of mine to bring positive messages and inspiration into their lives as much as possible. Donations to this project will do just that - we will strike a match of hope and motivation, and there is no telling how far that light will spread!
